Description

Ancient City of Side: Ancient City of Side was first under the sovereignty of the Lydians and Persians. Later, Alexander the Great took over here and remained in the grip of the Macedonians. The city has a large entrance surrounded by columns and the ancient city, consisting of the agora, has a large open-air theater. The monumental fountain, one of the most important fountains of antiquity, is also located here. You can easily visit Ancient City of Side with your wheelchair.

Side Museum: An ancient Roman bath in the ancient city of Side has been converted into a museum and created the current Side Museum. The museum is a wheelchair accessible museum. It is one of the best places to visit in Side. Many Roman and Byzantine sarcophagi, statues and coins are on display in this museum. There are also many columns and sculptures in its garden. This museum, suitable for wheelchair access, will give you the opportunity to discover its history.

Temple of Apollo: This temple, dedicated to Apollo, the god of art and beauty, is one of the symbols of Side. It affects those who see the columns and the architecture. It has managed to survive until today with all its splendor, preserving its originality. The Temple of Apollo and its surroundings are designed to be easily accessible by wheelchairs.

Side Theater: Side Theater, located in the ancient city of Side and has a Hellenistic structure and Roman architecture, has three floors. Wheelchair users can only see the entire theater from the columns on the middle floor. However, they cannot go up or take the stage due to the architectural structure of the theater. Even then, they will admire the acoustics and historic texture of the theater.

Monumental Fountain (Nymphaeum): The fountain with 21 columns that will await you at the entrance to the ancient city of Side is also known as the Nymphaeum. Since it is located by the roadside, it is suitable for visitors in wheelchairs. The decorations and sculptures of the fountain, of which only one of its three floors has survived, have been transferred to the Side Museum.
