Cosmetic rhinoplasty Rhinoplasty is cosmetic and reconstructive surgery of the nose. This procedure aims to change the shape of the nasal septum either partially or completely. This operation can also treat diseases of the nose, correct nasal breathing problems or simply ventilate the nasal passages. Rhinoplasty can be done alone or in combination with other facial operations such as genioplasty (chin surgery), blepharoplasty (eyelid surgery) or Botox and hyaluronic acid injection. All of these operations can be done as part of a process of embellishing the patient's facial profile, this is referred to as the profiloplasty operation. Nasal problems can be congenital, caused by accidents, or caused by aging. More information in the description below.

Description

When a patient undergoes their first rhinoplasty, it is called primary rhinoplasty. This term is opposed to that of secondary rhinoplasty, or even revision rhinoplasty, terms that are used when rhinoplasty is not the first undergone by the patient.

The purpose of rhinoplasty (nose surgery) is to restore the harmony of the nose and rebalance the proportions of the face.

The goal is to get a natural look for your nose.

The principle is to reshape the bone and cartilage which constitute the infrastructure of the nose.

The skin covering the nose will have to readjust and recover thanks to its elasticity.

The purpose of rhinoplasty is also to correct a functional problem that hinders breathing: nasal obstruction, deviation of the septum, hypertrophy of the turbinates, problem of nasal valves ...

All these anomalies are detected during the consultation by an examination of the nose and additional examinations (scanner, rhinomanometry ...).

It may be useful in some cases to combine chin surgery (genioplasty) or forehead, in order to rebalance the proportions of the nose with those of the face. This is called profiloplasty.

Why have rhinoplasty ?

The decision to "get your nose done" should never be taken on a whim or for fashion reasons.

The nose is what we see first on a face, it contributes to its harmony.

One or more defects present will break this harmony and draw the eye specifically to the nose.

The nose participates in breathing, and a deformation of it can cause respiratory problems, sinusitis, functional disorders, etc.

Once the nose is harmonized, it is the eyes, the look, the mouth that we will see first: all the expressiveness of the face will no longer be marred by an unsightly nose.

What type of rhinoplasty is best for me?

There are as many types of rhinoplasty as there are different noses.

After analyzing the characteristics of each nose, and the wishes of each patient, we can come up with a rhinoplasty project using, in particular, computer simulations.

Among the most usual requests, we find the following corrections: hunchbacked, deviated or twisted noses, too wide tips or noses, drooping tips, too prominent nose ...

It is best to wait until the end of growth before a rhinoplasty, usually between 15 and 16 years. It is also important to ensure the psychological maturity of young patients.

Consultation :

A complete analysis of the nose is performed (aesthetic and functional).

Respiratory problems or discomforts are sought, additional examinations are prescribed (deviation of the nasal septum, hypertrophy of turbinates, dysfunction of nasal valves, etc.).

Digital photos are taken of every part of the nose and face (forehead, chin, etc.).

Computer simulations are carried out so as to lead to the development of a common project between the surgeon and the patient.

It will be determined whether it is necessary to simultaneously perform a genioplasty (advancement, retraction or augmentation of the chin), or a surgery on the forehead.

The surgeon will then give his opinion on the most suitable type of rhinoplasty for his patient.

The intervention:

Duration of the intervention: from 1h30 to 4h, depending on the complexity.

Duration of hospitalization: 1 day and 1 night, but day hospitalization is sometimes possible. Hospitalization takes place on the morning of the operation on an empty stomach.

Type of anesthesia: general, most often.

Before the operation: certain drugs should not be taken 10 days before the operation: aspirin, anti-inflammatory drugs, anti-coagulants, etc.

End of the operation: a resin splint is put on the nose and must be kept for six days.

At your request, we can take care of all the procedures relating to reservations (hotel, car, etc.), transfers (airport-hotel) and other additional services depending on the type of stay chosen.
