THINGS TO DO IN ANTALYA

In recent years, the Antalya region has become a flagship destination for seaside tourism in Turkey.

Protected on one side by the Taurus Mountains, bathed on the other by the blue waters of the Mediterranean, Antalya owes its success to its beautiful sandy and pebble beaches, bordered by particularly clear water, as well as to modern and varied tourist infrastructures.

You can discover many incredible natural and historical sites there.

Since Antalya occupies a central place in the bay, it is a city where it is good to stroll. Its large public parks planted with palm trees, its marina and its Roman walls give it a very Mediterranean charm.

 Its old town is full of superb wooden houses from the 18th and 19th centuries, fitted out for the needs of tourism in pensions or souvenir shops.

It is said here that the sun shines 300 days a year and, even in the dead of winter, it is rare for the thermometer to drop below 15 ° C.

Discover the waterfalls

Antalya is home to some beautiful waterfalls. Some must-see waterfalls are Manavgat Waterfall, Düden Waterfall, Kurşunlu Waterfall, Sapadere Waterfall, Değirmendere Waterfall and Uçansu Waterfall. The waterfalls that line the pristine shore stretch for 10 meters. There you can enjoy a peaceful picnic, traditional breakfast, or eat at one of the many restaurants. You can visit the waterfalls any time of year and cool off in the fresh breeze.

Go rafting

Köprülü Canyon became a National Park in 1973 and is one of Turkey’s most famous and longest canyons and rafting spots. There are daily tours available that provide professional rafting equipment and accessories. At the canyon there are bungalows and stone houses to stay at. Don’t forget to see the historical Roman Oluk Bridge and the Karabük Bridge on your visit.

Explore Konyaaltı, Kaleiçi and Lara

Antalya, a vibrant city with beautiful beaches, is the full package. Konyaaltı and Lara, are popular spots with sandy beaches, parks and public areas. Kaleiçi, the old city, sits within the ruins of a castle and dates back to the Ottoman times. You can wander round the historical buildings or sample the delicious cuisine at the old restaurants.

Discover the caves

Beldibi Cave located in Kemer, Antalya, is the second most important Prehistoric center. It is also a SIT archaeological site, open to local and foreign tourists. Karain Cave, once inhabitated by humans, is the largest natural cave in Turkey.

Visit Yanartaş

A natural beauty of Anatolia, Yanartaş, is a site filled with dozens of small fires which burn constantly from vents in the rocks. Rumor has it, that the flames of Yanartaş have been burning for 1000 years. You need to hike up to Yanartaş, located on the side of a mountain, near the village of Çıralı. You can enjoy the breathtaking sea views at Yanartaş or admire the flames that flicker up to 30 cm from the beach.

Explore Aspendos

Aspendos was built by the Romans in 2 Century AD and is home to the most well-preserved ancient amphitheater in Turkey. This amphitheater, with a stage and rows of seats, has a view of aqueducts that are 1 km high. Two thousand-year-old two-story shops discovered during excavations reveal the commercial and political importance of the city.

Bathe at Olimpos

Olympos is home to untouched nature, pristine sea and a vast historical past. It’s an ideal spot in Antalya to revel in nature. You can stay at tree houses, relax on the beach during the day, and watch the stars by night. It is also a breeding area for Caretta Caretta turtles. Dive at Kaş

Kaş, one of the world’s best diving spots, has a variety of sea creatures and underwater historical ruins. Dimitri Batığı (Dimitri Shipwreck) in Canyon is a great spot for underwater photographers. Additionally, Uçan Balık (Flying Fish Reef) is an ideal spot for professional divers.
